Radiant Technologies, the maker of Liteon and its Lazer products, announced on Monday that it has closed a $30-billion deal with China’s LG Electronics, bringing the company’s technology to a Chinese market.
In a statement, Radiant Technologies said the deal was “a significant step in bringing our products to a global market”.
“The addition of the LG Lazer brand to our portfolio will enhance the brand and enhance our ability to attract new customers,” Radiant Technologies chief executive John Kucharek said.
“Our technology will be a catalyst for the growth of our business in the China market.”
Liteon, the world’s leading mobile phone and tablet camera, has a strong foothold in China.
The company has had its hands-on products tested in China for several years, and last year launched a mobile-phone-camera business.LG’s Lazer, which was launched in the United States in 2007, is a smartphone-camera platform, and has been used by Apple, Samsung and other major brands.
Lazer is sold in more than 20 countries, including Australia, Canada, Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
Liteons are sold in about 70 countries, and can be purchased in multiple countries.LG has also launched a digital camera camera in China, but the Lazer camera is not yet available in China due to restrictions.
Radiant Technologies is the first company to bring its technology directly to China, according to the company.
The company has about 6,000 employees in the US, according the company statement.
Radiant Technology, which also makes laser lighting systems, said its technology can help companies create new products and deliver higher quality product and customer service.
“The Lazer and Lazer Plus products offer the highest level of quality and functionality, with high performance,” the company said in the statement.
“Our technology can be used to bring more innovation and quality to the mobile industry, and we are excited to expand our technology in the future.”
The Liteons, like Radiant Technologies’ technology, are sold at an average price of $500 each, but Radiant Technologies also offers a suite of services, including software development, design, production, sales, distribution, and maintenance.
Radiant also makes other lighting products, including LED lamps and light bulbs.
